Jewelry and Accessories

Japanese and Chinese jewelry comes in many forms, from precious jade to hand-carved wooden beads. Some of our favorite Asian jewelry is the rare finds that turn up at the flea markets of downtown Tokyo or in the stalls of the Shanghai market. In addition to treasures from the Far East, we also make our own Origami Crane Earrings, Sushi Earrings, and more!

Oriental jewelry is made of many different materials, though most countries in the far east favor natural sources. Wooden beads have been used for centuries, and modern versions include tiny, intricate details often carved using the same methods that artists employed hundreds of years ago. Glass beads create focal pendants with etching of birds or dragons, or are molded to create tiny visions of koi. Semiprecious stones, especially Chinese jade, are used with gold and silver to create fine jewelry that looks as good dressed up as with jeans.

The Asian Gift Store has many different kinds of handmade oriental jewelry from materials like glass, fine and fashion metals, jade, and other semiprecious stones. Chinese symbol jewelry depicts kanji characters to fit any emotion, Chinese jade jewelry uses this ancient stone together with gold and silver to create wearable works of art, and handmade Japanese jewelery turns glass beads into unique and funky original pieces.
